Sadly, the cup now bears a crack produced by all the use. It is time to retire it, but I think it will still take up space in our cabinet. I'm not sure Clay is ready to part with it.
Silence for a moment, please.
Thank you.
In response to this post, Clay wrote his own eulogy:
Thank you for finally doing your duty and paying proper respects to this wonderful cup. It has served proudly and faithfully to family and friends alike with out regard to its own personal safety and well being. It has endured countless cycles in the dishwasher. It has survived several days of repeated use of storing my tea as the cup I would use for days in a row. It proudly served frigid beverages to numerous friends on countless occasions. It never failed to amaze all who saw it as it changed from a light almost fluorescent yellow into a deep rich blue. Never in my life have I seen a certain cup requested so often. Despite all of its years of harsh usage, it served proudly and without complaint. It was a loyal companion, a faithful friend; it was family. So, to you oh color shifting Eskimo Joe’s Cup, we salute you for your selfless and sacrificial duty. You have served with immense bravery and dedication. We will be forever indebted to you for delivering cold, tasty, and refreshing beverages. Go and rest in peace good buddy; Rest In Peace.

I simply LOVE this post! Only you (and me) would blog about a cup! Classic!
I am in mourning, though.
What a tribute! Who would have thought a cup we left you would become so famed and prized. So glad we could add a little bit to your lives. We had a moment of silence for it. It is always a sad day when we have to say goodbye to one. Hope ya'll are all doing well. We miss you guys.
