I was so strong. Now I am not.
Last time I joined simply to see what the fuss was about...and I quickly realized how much time I wasted seeing who I could "reconnect" with. So I quit.
Then Jodi sent an invite. Seems she and her hubby had gotten hooked. I resisted the urge for weeks, but Clay joined. He kept talking about who he found. We found connections we didn't know existed (the world is small, people, small). I still resisted, but then gave in today after annoying Clay to death by "mooching" off his page. He even threatened to start a group called "Get Kaci to join Facebook."
Now I remember why I quit in the first place. Sure, it's nice to see where people are, but you can waste HOURS searching and seeing who's friends with whom, who's posted what, skimming through flair, and that doesn't even touch the various quizzes and games and such. I should have known better. I should have remained strong, but I gave in to the peer pressure. I gave in to my need to know what's going on. I gave in to my curiosity. Heaven help me. I'm 31 and can't control myself!
I was having enough trouble having a blog. I've even toyed with taking a blogging vacation to take care of some things I've let slip and simply cross some things off my "want to do" list. So what do I do instead? Get hooked on something else. Ridiculous. I could kick myself. It's not like life is boring or uneventful with two toddlers running around. Of course I have endless hours I need to fill with something.
Blasted Facebook.

Hilarious! I feel your pain! So many productive things could be going on during naptime if I would just get off the computer! I feel closer to you guys reading your blog though, so keep it up!
Sucker. I must admit that I joined only thanks to Jodi's request as well. HOWEVER, I have only jumped back on two or three times. Idol hands, I guess.
Don't give up blogging. I feel more adult blogging and get sucked back into my stalker teenage days w/ FB!
That is exactly why I took a vacation from my facebook, just as I did last summer. Whenever you feel the need to you can deactivate your account. Clay tried to find me and finally text me or something to say he couldn't find me. I admitted that I had spent hours upon hours of keeping up with people's lives that I hadn't seen in years. Then I decided I liked not knowing and I liked people not knowing what I was up to. I used to spend hours playing LOST trivia and MLB player identification quizzes. Needless to say I can identify almost any MLB player if it's given to me in multiple choice format. Have fun!!!
hahaha...I find it absolutely hilarious how big Facebook has gotten recently, especially with you older young adults :P
Facebook can become consuming, so be careful! :)
