We knew the mama bunny had been a bit too brazen and hanging too close to the house not to be keeping watch. Little did we know she had 4 little children under her care - in our jasmine right outside our front door! The little ones were brave last night venturing out into the great unknown. It was fun to watch the kids and we got to see babies nurse! The first picture is a little blurry, but is the best one of them nursing. Mama Bunny didn't take her eyes off us, but she finally hopped away so I got a good shot of the 4 little ones trying to figure out how to get back in the jasmine. Something tells me this will not help our grass growing problem!

New inhabitants
We had been wondering...and last night it was confirmed -

We found 8 baby bunnies in a hole in our front yard when we moved to the new house. The mom put the hole right in the sun. Sadly one of the bunnies died. We had to call animal control to pick up the rest b/c we were afraid the lawn mower (that had gone right over the hole, thankfully not getting any bunnies) might get them, or the dog, or a car in our driveway...hopefully your mommy bunny was smarter and hid them in a safer place. And don't worry - the animal control guy said they work with pet stores to get rid of the bunnies. They don't just put them to sleep. They were adorable! He tried to catch the mom also, but she was way too fast.
This is what Clay gets for wanting to shoot one of God's precious little creatures - 4 more!!!!! Haha!
Holly, thanks for the heads up about animal control.
It does make me wonder about the creatures he found in the back yard in a hole. We thought they were mice, but now I'm wondering. They had a short life...and I fear these 4 bunnies won't last too long with all the dogs in neighboring yards and the cars.
Ooooh too cute!!!! Bethy has been asking for a bunny :)
