Race for the Cure

This past Saturday we participated in Race for the Cure in honor of Gail Anderson (mother of my best friend) who lost her battle with breast cancer November 14, 2006. Our team, GAIL FORCE, wore these bright teal shirts with John 3:8 on the back. "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit." Gale force winds have a powerful effect. Gail Anderson's life greatly impacted the thousands she came in contact with during her 63 years. It was an honor to run in her memory and in celebration of my aunt, a survivor. It was a moving moment as the team prayed together with Gail's family who participated in the race with us; but I think the most touching moment was joining Gail's husband and granddaughter as they crossed the finish line.

Did I mention that it was bitterly cold and snowing? Thus the need for multiple layers!
